DESCRIPTION:SPC Shaun Robey\, USA (Ret) is an avid hunter and fisherman. He\ngrew up in Georgia\, wrestled in high school and loved being part\nof a team. His father was former Navy and his brother was in the\ninfantry. In 2006\, Shaun joined the Army and deployed to Arab\nJabour Iraq with the 3rd ID. On July 24\, 2007\, an IED took out\ntheir truck leaving him with a crushed right foot and an amputated\nleft leg among other injuries. He received the Bronze Star and the\nPurple Heart. His best friend\, SGT Joe Bartel\, USA (Ret) lost his\nleg in that same blast and nominated Shaun for his Helping a Hero\nhome. He is married to Ashten and has 3 children. \n

SUMMARY:Groundbreaking Ceremony - SGT James “Jimmy” King\, USMC (Ret)
DESCRIPTION:In 2004\, Marine Sergeant James King deployed to Ramadi\,\nIraq. While on patrol\, their unit was hit by a roadside bomb and\nhe lost his left leg. After being transferred to Landstuhl and\nthen to Walter Reed\, he was in a coma for 3 1/2 weeks. He then\nstarted the long rehabilitation to learn to walk again. Although\nhe still has many challenges with his prosthetic\, he is committed\nto remaining active. He has participated in over a dozen\nmarathons using a hand cycle and looks forward to having his\nadapted home built in Rocky Mount where he will finally be able\nto have a fully wheelchair accessible home and restore much of\nhis daily independence. He and his wife\, Beth\, have 3 children.
