Groundbreaking Ceremony – SPC Shaun Robey, USA (Ret.)

SPC Shaun Robey, USA (Ret) is an avid hunter and fisherman. He
grew up in Georgia, wrestled in high school and loved being part
of a team. His father was former Navy and his brother was in the
infantry. In 2006, Shaun joined the Army and deployed to Arab
Jabour Iraq with the 3rd ID. On July 24, 2007, an IED took out
their truck leaving him with a crushed right foot and an amputated
left leg among other injuries. He received the Bronze Star and the
Purple Heart. His best friend, SGT Joe Bartel, USA (Ret) lost his
leg in that same blast and nominated Shaun for his Helping a Hero
home. He is married to Ashten and has 3 children.
